Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial earn praise for performances in Manchester United win over Burton Albion

They played very well

Manchester United recorded a comfortable victory on Wednesday night.

United beat Burton Albion 4-1 in the League Cup, proving way too good for the Championship side from the first whistle to the last. Marcus Rashford scored twice, Jesse Lingard got one, via a deflection, and Anthony Martial scored a well-deserved goal in the second-half.

Jose Mourinho will be happy with the performance of most of his players, but two of the goalscorers definitely stood out. Rashford and Martial were particularly impressive in the victory.

The pair have rarely played together this season, as Mourinho has often substituted one player for the other in Premier League matches. However, they showed signs of a very prolific partnership at Old Trafford against Burton.

Rashford set-up Martial’s goal before the English striker was substituted, and the pair’s performance impressed those watching at home and in the stadium.
