Take a bow, mate
Marcelino Nunez scored one of the coldest penalties you’ll see this season in Norwich City’s penalty shootout victory over Birmingham City on Tuesday night.
The Chilean midfielder confidently dispatched the Canaries’ fourth spot-kick in their EFL Cup clash – and he didn’t even wait to watch his penalty go in.
The 22-year-old converted from 12 yards with an outrageous panenka penalty, which completely stunned Birmingham goalkeeper Neil Etheridge.

Etheridge dived to his right before scrambling to try and stop Nunez’s effort, however, he wasn’t able to prevent it bouncing over the goal line. Just to make things even better, Nunez turned away from his penalty before the ball even went in.
Didn't even watch it go in! 😆

Nunez joined Norwich from Universidad Catolica for an undisclosed fee this summer. The Chilean registered 11 goals and 12 assists in 83 appearances for the Campeonato Chileno outfit.
Ismaila Sarr scores from own half against West Brom
Nunez’s stunning spot-kick comes in the same week that Watford star Ismaila Sarr produced a strong contender for goal of the season as the Hornets drew at West Brom.
The Senegal international brought down a headed clearance from one of his teammates down a few yards from the halfway line with his back to goal. Affording himself a second touch to push the ball out of his feet, he turned and drilled the ball goal-wards.
West Brom goalkeeper David Button had been on the edge of his area when Sarr took possession of the ball. His desperate attempted to scramble back towards his goal line were futile, with the ball drifting over his head, bouncing once and nestling inside the empty goal.

Though a goal worthy of winning any game, it wasn’t enough for Watford to take all three points. Two minutes into stoppage time at the end of the first half, West Brom drew level through Karlan Grant.
