Several of the Manchester United players  told referee Martin Atkinson that the ball is flat

Several Manchester United players were heard complaining about the ball being flat during their game against Arsenal on Thursday night.

The likes of Harry Maguire, Alex Telles and Marcus Rashford were all heard complaining to referee Martin Atkinson after taking shots which barely tested Arsenal keeper Aaron Ramsdale.

United were losing 1-0 at the time after a bizarre goal from Emile Smith-Rowe put the Gunners in front despite David De Gea lying on the floor complaining of an injury.

Marcus Rashford was even heard speaking to the fourth official telling him about the issue with the footballs saying: “Half of the balls are flat!” This is the Premier League. You should not have to pump the match balls in the first half!!!”

However just on the verge of half-time, Bruno Fernandes stroked the ball home into the bottom corner on his 100th United appearance to equalise.

New interim manager Ralf Rangnick watched on from the stands after his work permit didn’t come through in time, meaning he will be in the dugout for the first time against Crystal Palace on Sunday.
