Manchester United have reportedly begun talks to sell a £30m Erik ten Hag transfer signing as INEOS continue their squad overhaul at Old Trafford

Coming in for his first season as Manchester United's permanent coach, Michael Carrick aims to make significant changes within the team.

The Red Devils have begun talks with Juventus to offload Joshua Zirkzee for around £30m.

The young Dutch national was originally bought for about £36.5m in 2024 from Bologna, showing lots of promise.

Despite a winning goal on his debut against Wolves, Zirkzee’s future at Old Trafford has been questioned more and more over time.

From Erik ten Hag unable to get the most out of the center forward, to irregular positioning within Amorim’s 3-4-3 formation, Zirkzee’s struggles within the team were clear.

Flashes were shown as Zirkzee began to play more frequently under Carrick.

However, according to The Sun, the newly appointed permanent coach has made up his mind on selling his young star.

As forerunners for the trade, Juventus have shown an interest in Zirkzee after a breakdown for their move towards Kolo Mouani.

The French national, on loan from PSG to Spurs this past season, has been on display for Luis Enrique who deems the striker a surplus in Paris.

With lots of moving pieces in place, Manchester United might follow Enrique’s steps, considering loaning Zirkzee with a £30m buyout option, despite costing them £36.5m 2024.

Negotiations have not stopped on either side, with Juventus in dire need of a centre forward.

In addition, Zirkzee’s representatives have responded positively to the deal.

With the transfer in mind, Carrick would retain a single senior striker in Benjamin Sesko.

The Slovenian national has struggled with shin injuries, missing out on pre-season games against Wrexham and Rosenborg, as he follows up on his rehabilitation prior to the season.
