Manchester United may have a not-so-secret weapon to sign Gareth Bale

Manchester United are determined to spend crazy money in 2016.

Louis van Gaal, if he can hang onto his job, has long been linked with either singing Neymar from Barcelona or Gareth Bale from Real Madrid to boost the club's flagging attacking fortunes. It will take a whole lot of money if they are to get either man but it seems that Old Trafford negotiators may have a secret up their sleeves to try and secure the services of the former Tottenham man. According to the Daily Mail, Bale is a big fan of former Wales legend, and current club number two, Ryan Giggs - and that could be the secret ingredient to helping the winger to acclimatise to life in Manchester. The club are supposedly preparing a £75million bid for the midfielder, with reports suggesting an initial approach could be made this month after the club axed Rafa Benitez this week and installed Zinedine Zidane as the club's interim boss. Bale and Cristiano Ronaldo have have more than one public argument on the pitch in Spain and the Welshman is believed to have been 'intensely disappointed' at how the club treated Benitez in his final few weeks at the club. He still has three years left on his contract, however, and may be reluctant to move or disrupt any preparation to Wales' first international tournament in several generations, this summer.
