Manchester United fans fume as Louis van Gaal allows striker to leave on loan

It's not been a great week for Louis van Gaal.

Manchester United's failure to score against PSV Eindhoven has seen the manager heavily criticised by many supporters. While many acknowledge that the team is looking much more defensively assured, one of the main complaints is their lack of goal threat. Van Gaal started the season with just three recognised strikers in his first team squad: Wayne Rooney, new signing Anthony Martial, and James Wilson. Wilson, a product of United's academy, announced himself at the end of the disastrous 2013-2014 with two goals on his debut against Hull City. It's even more surprising that Van Gaal should choose this week of all weeks to let Wilson leave the club on loan.
