It’s believed that Sancho remains Manchester United’s top target

Jadon Sancho has been a revelation in the Bundesliga this season with Borussia Dortmund and has further increased his credentials with some impressive performances for England.

In a short space of time the former Manchester City youngster has become one of the hottest properties in world football, and is expected to command a fee in excess of £100 million should he depart the Westfalenstadion.

If he does leave, it’s believed that Manchester United will be one of the first clubs in the queue to take him.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side have improved under his management this season, but with Alexis Sanchez continually failing to justify his mammoth wages and Juan Mata slowing down with age, Sancho would represent an enormous upgrade as well as a statement of intent from the Premier League side.

The club have reportedly identified Sancho and Chelsea youngster Callum Hudson-Odoi as their first and second targets for the summer transfer window.

Hudson-Odoi has shown enough quality to convince England manager Gareth Southgate to give him his full international debut, but has not yet provoked the same level of confidence from Chelsea manager Maurizio Sarri, who has so far restricted the 18-year-old’s action to Europa League, Carabao Cup and substitute appearances in the league.

Though it is understood that Bayern Munich remain Hudson-Odoi’s preferred destination, it is recognised that United would likely grant him the platform to play at the highest level week in, week out.

Both Sancho and Hudson-Odoi will be in demand though and any move for the latter could be impeded by Chelsea’s transfer ban, and it’s believed that United have earmarked none other than former winger and current Crystal Palace talisman Wilfried Zaha as a surprise option should they fail to land either of their two top targets.

According to reports, Solskjaer could take a punt on a player he managed during his brief spell in charge of Cardiff City if Sancho and Hudson-Odoi are unattainable.

Zaha has been one of the most impressive attacking midfielder in the Premier League in recent years, and it’s believed that both Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester City are both weighing up moves for him.
