Man Utd supporters set to emulate Arsenal fans before Burnley game

If it’s good enough for Arsenal, it’s good enough for Man Utd

When Arsenal supporters continually rented a plane to fly over the club’s matches with the slogan “NO CONTRACT – #WENGER OUT” trailing behind, people – including Man Utd fans – were quick to mock them.

The anger and exasperation at what had become of Wenger’s tenure at the club was understandable, but – quite simply – there are better things to spend your money on than a plane asking for someone to lose their job.

Fast forward a year or so and Manchester United are set to face Burnley at Turf Moor on Sunday and, much like the Arsenal fans prior to Wenger’s departure, some Red Devils supporters are very angry.

They are so angry, in fact, that they too have rented a plane to fly a message over Burnley’s stadium 20 minutes before kick-off.

Rather than ask for manager Jose Mourinho to leave though, a set of fans from a group named “A Voice from the Terrace” will call for club chief executive Ed Woodward to leave.

The banner will reportedly contain the slogan “Ed Woodward – a specialist in failure”, a reference to a comment made by Mourinho about Wenger during his most recent spell at Chelsea in 2014.
