United's desire to strengthen at right back this summer has been widely reported. Though they only signed young Portuguese full-back Diogo Dalot a year ago, Ashley Young, who turns 34 later this summer, appeared most frequently in the position throughout the 2018/19 season.
Antonio Valencia - a regular at right-back since the departure of Sir Alex Ferguson six years ago - has also been released by the club this summer.
While Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is also believed to be looking to sign a central defender, a defensive midfielder and another forward, United do appear to have tied up a deal for Swansea's Daniel James.
