Manchester United have set their price for Harry Maguire, with Sky Sports reporting the Red Devils want a fee of £40m for the centre-half.
West Ham are reportedly eager to obtain the services of the 30-year-old, who has been at Old Trafford since his £80m transfer from Leicester City in 2019.
The London club saw an initial £20m bid rejected yesterday by United, with the club's hierarchy aware that the Hammers have money to burn following the record sale of Declan Rice to Arsenal.
Maguire's days in Manchester have seemed numbered since the arrival of Erik Ten Hag last summer, with the Dutchman favouring the defensive pairing of Raphael Varane and Lisandro Martinez.
This message was further emphasised earlier this summer when Ten Hag stripped Maguire of the club captaincy, instead handing it to Portuguese midfielder Bruno Fernandes.
With United reportedly working on a limited transfer budget this summer amidst the drama surrounding a potential change of ownership, funds must be raised by player sales.
According to the Athletic, the Red Devils will turn their attention to Moroccan World Cup star Sofyan Amrabat following the hoped departures of Maguire and Fred, the latter linked with a move to Turkish side Galatasaray.
Amrabat led his nation to the World Cup semi-finals last December, as Morocco shocked the world defeating the likes of Spain and Portugal.
After reported moves to Barcelona and Bayern Munich fell through in January, the Fiorentina midfielder looks set to finally depart Florence this summer.
It is thought that the Serie A side value the 26-year-old at roughly £30m.
