United fans threw bottles at the Atletico boss
Manchester United have been fined £8,420 after fans threw objects at Atletico Madrid manager Diego Simeone following their Champions League defeat in March.
Simeone was
hit by missiles as he ran down the touchline and into the tunnel after the Red Devils' 1-0 loss against the LaLiga side at Old Trafford.
Atletico knocked United out of the Champions League
The first-leg of the tie ended as a 1-1 draw at the Metropolitano Stadium, with youngster
Anthony Elanga scoring late to salvage a draw for United after João Félix had opened the scoring.
However, the second-leg tie saw the reigning LaLiga champions secure a 2-1 aggregate victory over the Red Devils, with Renan Lodi's first-half goal enough to send Atletico into the next round.

Rangers and Liverpool also fined
Rangers and Liverpool were also fined £38,900 and £8,420 respectively by UEFA. The Scottish club were ordered to pay a total of €46,250 after supporters lit fireworks and the team was deemed responsible for a late kick-off in their 1-0 Europa League loss to Braga earlier this month.
Liverpool have been fined €10,000 for a late kick-off in the 3-1 Champions League win at Benfica on April 5, with manager Jurgen Klopp also given a warning.

Could United's punishment have been more severe?
Last month,
Galatasaray supporters threw bottles and plastic cups onto the pitch when Barcelona's players attempted to waste time during the Catalan club's Europa League victory in Istanbul.
The referee halted the game for a number of minutes while the home players attempted to calm the situation down.
As a result, the Turkish club
received a partial stadium closure, subject to a probationary period of two years.
