Man City mock Man Utd with tweet after 6-1 defeat to Spurs

An evening to forget for Manchester United

When your rivals slip up, that’s the time to get a dig in. No waiting around, no hesitation, kick them when they’re down, and that’s exactly what Manchester City did after rivals Man United were battered 6-1 at home to Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday.

United had their asses handed to them by Jose Mourinho’s Spurs side, who were ruthless in all aspects of their game against an impotent United team who appeared to have forgotten the very basics of movement, nevermind football.

On the stroke of full-time, Spurs put out their customary tweet with the score, at which point City decided to quote tweet with the universal handshake emoji, a reminder of the last time a visiting team beat the Red Devils by that scoreline at Old Trafford.

The tweet was a cherry on top for what was an absolute disaster of a day for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, whose side took an early lead via the penalty spot before completely capitulating against a Spurs team full of intensity and technical quality.

The result leaves United 16th in the table after one win and two defeats in their opening three games, and raises serious question marks over the future of Solskjaer as manager.
