City are moving quickly!

Manchester City have reportedly identified their Rodri replacement and could move in January for the player.

On Saturday evening, City fell to their fourth consecutive defeat at Brighton, spelling problems as they fell five points behind Liverpool at the end of night.

City have struggled since losing their star man Rodri and have resultantly identified one of the world’s best midfielders in search to fill the void left.

And according to Mirror Football, City are prepared to smash the £50m release clause for Real Sociedad’s Martin Zubimendi.

Highly-rated by all, Zubimendi was the subject of strong interest from Arne Slot’s Liverpool in the summer transfer window.

The Spanish international then opted to stay at Sociedad – a January move to City however is not off the cards.

City could also move for another La Liga star

According to Spanish outlet Fichajes, City also pose an interest in Real Madrid star Federico Valverde.

A player primed with huge flexibility, he can play in the role of Rodri or even further up the field.

This is seen as a huge asset for Pep Guardiola whose side are seriously struggling with injuries.

Valverde’s current contract keeps him at the Santiago Bernabeu until 2029 and the 26 year old is currently valued at a whopping 130 million Euros.
