Manchester United's victory over Swansea over the weekend has done little to quell the unrest amongst the Red Devils' fanbase.

Despite this, it seems that the club's belief in manager Louis van Gaal is unwavering. A report in The Sunday Times suggests that despite a run of eight games without a win in all competitions prior to Saturday's triumph, and their exit from the Champions League, Van Gaal's job remains safe. United are apparently sticking to the plan to have assistant boss Ryan Giggs succeed the Dutchman when his contract expires in the summer of 2017. giggsnew The story suggests that the Glazer family who own the club and chariman Ed Woodward believe Van Gaal 'is laying strong structures that can be followed after he departs' and that they 'value his management'. A large portion of United fans hold precisely the opposite view, with many eyeing newly-available Jose Mourinho and still more demanding the club pursue Pep Guardiola when the Bayern Munich boss hits the market this summer.
