Louis van Gaal would accept offer from English club to get revenge on Manchester United

He wants to get one over on the Red Devils

Louis van Gaal is clearly still very bitter about the manner in which his Manchester United career came to an end.

Van Gaal was sacked just two days after delivering the FA Cup to United in 2016 and was promptly replaced by Jose Mourinho.

Having previously claimed that United’s executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward had been figuring out a way to oust him for five months and suggested that “United put my head in a noose”, Van Gaal is not exactly the biggest fan of the Red Devils nowadays.

The 66-year-old has not accepted another job since being relieved of his duties by United last May and he’s insisted that he won’t return to management unless an opportunity arises which would provide him the chance to stick it to his former employer.

“I will probably not manage a club anymore,” van Gaal said, via the Mirror.

“I would make one exception — if a big English club comes for me, than I would do it. Because then I can get the chance to get one over on Manchester United.”

Van Gaal has recently claimed that he prefers watching Manchester City play nowadays more than United, but he maintains that he doesn’t have anything personal against his successor at Old Trafford. The same can’t be said, however, for his feelings towards Woodward.

“Woodward should have come to me and we could have worked on that,” he added.

“I have nothing against Jose.”
