It has been about a month since the last update from Manchester United about Luke Shaw, who tragically broke his leg against PSV Eindhoven in September.
But ahead of United's Champions League outing with CSKA Moscow, Louis van Gaal wrote about the 20-year-old in his programme notes.
"Luke is progressing well and is doing as well as we could have hoped at this stage," said Van Gaal.
"We are not putting any timings on his recovery or a return, as it is important we allow nature to take its course.
"Luke is working hard during his recuperation to keep his body in the best possible condition.
"He is receiving plenty of messages of encouragement from supporters, which I know he appreciates."
England fans may still be hopeful that the youngster returns in time for Euro 2016 next summer.
