Could Mohamed Salah finally become a Red?

Liverpool are in talks with Roma over the signing of the former Chelsea winger Mohamed Salah.

The Reds had an initial offer for Salah – whom they tried to sign from Basel before he joined Chelsea in 2014 – turned down by the Serie A club but Jürgen Klopp is a big fan of the Egyptian, who is still only 24.

Salah scored an impressive 15 goals in 31 league appearances for Roma last season, as the club finished second behind Juventus.

The forward is tempted by a move to Anfield and a return to the Premier League, where he was never really given a chance by Chelsea before being sent out for successful loan spells at Fiorentina and then Roma.

He joined Roma permanently in the summer of 2016.

Liverpool have already lined up young Chelsea striker Dominic Solanke, who will join the Merseyside club on 1 July following the expiry of his contract with the Blues.

As Solanke is just 19-years-old, Liverpool will pay compensation of approximately £3m to Chelsea.
