West Ham have been alerted to Benteke's impending availability but several other European sides would be interested in signing the 25-year-old.
Were Benteke to remain in England, his wages may prove a stumbling block for any transfer. The most likely option, according to The Times, is for the forward to go out on loan with Liverpool stumping up a portion of his £120,000-a-week wages.
The Mirror claim West Ham would be willing to pay £80,000 per week, leaving Liverpool with a £40k bill left to pay or £2m over the course of a year.
