Liverpool fans were none too happy with Alberto Moreno’s behaviour in the tunnel

That didn't go down well

Alberto Moreno is never going to be Liverpool supporters’ favourite player.

Most fans continue to question the regular absence of Andrew Robertson in Jurgen Klopp’s teams because, quite frankly, they don’t trust Moreno at left back.

And while he’s definitely improved since his days when he was no more than a liability, Moreno certainly doesn’t fill supporters with confidence.

And the 25-year-old did himself absolutely no favours on Saturday afternoon if he hopes to get himself into the good books of the Anfield faithful.

Prior to kick-off in the most recent edition of one of the most anticipated and typically tempestuous fixtures in the Premier League, there was little in the way of intensity from Moreno in the tunnel.

Rather than stare steely-eyed and concentrate on the task at hand when Manchester United’s players lined up, Moreno trotted over to fellow Spaniards David De Gea and Ander Herrera and tried to share a few jokes with them.

The United pair offered some pleasantries to Moreno, who seemingly didn’t want to return to his own teammates too quickly as he lingered and continued to laugh with the opposition.

We’re used to seeing international compatriots behave cordially to one another when they meet on club duty but it was the fixture and the manner of Moreno’s friendliness that provoked the ire of Reds supporters.
