Leicester are now putting Champions League incentives in transfer bids

We doubt they’ve ever thought of doing this before.

They might be keeping their targets close to their chests, but Premier League upstarts Leicester City appear to be finally acknowledging their very real challenge for a place in next season’s Champions League.

Claudio Ranieri’s side remain right in the thick of the league race, just two points behind leaders Arsenal, and while maintaining a title push might be too much to ask with half the season still to play, the top four could yet be within their grasp.

And the Foxes are now making their ambitions clear in the transfer market, reportedly adding Champions League incentives to a bid for AC Milan midfielder Nigel de Jong.

The combative Dutch tackler is still only 31 and The Mirror claim Leicester have made a £2million bid with an extra £1million to be paid if the club finish in the top four this season.
