Butterbean challenges jake Paul

‘Jake Paul, if you’re ready, I’m here for you’

Legendary boxer Eric Esch, a.k.a. Butterbean, has revealed he is coming out of retirement – challenging Jake Paul to a fight in the process.

Butterbean last fought in 2013, but has an impressive boxing CV, having taken part in 91 fights with a record of 77 wins – 58 by knockout – four draws and 10 losses.

After a decade out of the ring though, the 56-year-old has confirmed his intentions to fight again.

Whilst his opponent hasn’t yet been announced, it seems like Butterbean has his eyes on one particular man.

Speaking on Instagram, he said: “I’m going to fight one last fight. It’s gonna be one year from now.”

He then added: “Jake Paul, if you’re ready, I’m here for you, my friend. Let’s get it on, me and you, Jake Paul.”

This isn’t the first time he’s taken aim at the ‘Problem Child’ either. Last year, he told the Sun that Paul “runs his mouth too much.”

He told the publication: “I’m not a typical boxer, I go out there to fight, I want to knock somebody out. Jake Paul or Mike Tyson.

“Jake Paul runs his mouth too much, he’s never fought nobody, I would love to fight him.

“But I think people would like to see me and Tyson go at it, which would be a hell of a draw.

“Me and Tyson are actually friends but I don’t mind fighting friends.”

The American also claimed that Paul is more than aware of his desire to take him on.

He continued: “He knows about it, I know 100 percent he knows about me challenging him.

“I’m going to wait until I’m closer to being ready but I have had a couple of fight offers, some big names – I don’t want to say who – but I’ve had a couple of contracts sent to me.”

Since entering the world of boxing, Paul has equipped himself well. In seven fights, he has won six, with 4 KOs, and lost one, which was to Tommy Fury in February.

His next bout is scheduled to be against Nate Diaz in August at the American Airlines Center in Dallas, Texas.
