Aymeric Laporte offers sarcastic response after Team of the Year snub

Aymeric Laporte issued a sarcastic response after being snubbed from the PFA Team of the Year, with Manchester City also dropping a timely montage of the defender on social media. The Professional Footballers' Association (PFA) announced its yearly award winners on Thursday evening, with Liverpool's Mohamed Salah winning the Player of the Year, while City man Phil Foden picked up the Young Player of the Year for the second year in a row. As well as handing out individuals awards, the PFA also named its team of the year - which was met with backlash from supporters of certain clubs, and even some players. Despite winning the Premier League title, only three City players were included - Joao Cancelo, Kevin de Bruyne and Bernardo Silva. Laporte makes his feelings known

One player was clearly annoyed by his omission, with Spain international Laporte posting a number of images on his Instagram story which denoted a number of key stats from his season. They included the highest passing accuracy in the Premier League, the highest number of accurate passes per 90 minutes, the most completed passes in the league, most centre-back goals, most points in the Premier League history from first 100 games and the most 'last-man' tackles. City also released a well-timed video on Twitter, which showed all of the 28-year-old's best moments from the season.
