Kylian Mbappe ‘wants Neymar out of PSG team’

The relationship between the two has deteriorated since the start of the season

The relationship between Paris Saint-Germain duo Kylian Mbappe and Neymar has plummeted to an all-time low, according to reports from France.

After rumours the pair haven’t been seeing eye-to-eye, it’s now been claimed things have broken down to the extent that Mbappe wants the Brazilian out of PSG’s side.

In return, Neymar is said to have been left ‘astonished’ by the power and influence the France international now has with the Ligue 1 champions, particularly since he inked a lucrative contract extension to stay in Paris and reject an offer from Real Madrid over the summer.

L’Equipe say the relationship between the pair has deteriorated since the start of the new season, adding that Mbappe would have been open to Neymar departing the club over the summer.

Though the pair are able to set aside any differences when on the pitch, things are believed to be frosty between them, a potential threat to the harmony of the side. The same report even claims Lionel Messi has become something of a mediator between the two.

PSG boss Christophe Galtier played down suggestions of a rift between the pair after the an apparent on-field disagreement over a penalty during a game against Montpellier.

Mbappe missed a penalty in the game, only for PSG to win a second spot-kick later. While Mbappe expected to take it, Neymar took the ball instead, converting from 12 yards. Mbappe opted not to celebrate the penalty with his teammate.

After the game, Neymar liked some tweets criticising the choice of Mbappe as first choice penalty taker.
