The fate of Manchester United's young star Kobbie Mainoo has been of great discussion throughout the 2025/26 Premier League season.
The 20-year-old burst onto the scene under the club's previous manager Erik Ten Hag, but has struggled for gametime under Ruben Amorim.

The academy graduate played 90 minutes against Grimsby in the League Cup back in August, but has not started a single Premier League game so far this season.
With the World Cup now months away, Mainoo looks likely to depart Old Trafford in January.
Although the issue of Mainoo's playtime has bubbled away consistently throughout the season, speculation rose to the surface last night, due to the actions of Mainoo's brother.
Former Love Island contestant Jordan Mainoo-Hames attended the Red Devils' 4-4 draw with Bournemouth at Old Trafford, and was spotted wearing a
"Free Kobbie Mainoo" t-shirt.
The image of Mainoo-Hames went viral immediately after it was posted by X user @AadamHaladh.
In the hours since, Mainoo-Hames has taken to Instagram himself to break silence on the rumours, by posting the very same image on his story.
It is currently unclear how Ruben Amorim responded to the stunt from the reality TV star, and whether it will have a negative impact on Mainoo's reported hopes of departing Old Trafford this winter.
Recently, renowned journalist Fabrizio Romano reported that there were upwards of 10 clubs interested in signing Kobbie Mainoo.
Should he depart, Man United would no longer have a graduate from their academy with a realistic shot at playing first-team football.
