Jurgen Klopp's preparations for his first game as Liverpool manager appear to have been dealt a blow.
Young defender Joe Gomez has been sent for a scan, amid fears that he has injured his ACL playing for England U21s this week. After being withdrawn from the game, it now appears the injury may be more serious than first thought, after Gareth Southgate initially played down the problem.
Gomez signed for Liverpool in summer from Charlton Athletic and started Liverpool's opening five games in the league.
Although he lost his place following the 3-1 defeat at Manchester United, he's remained in the starting live-up for Europa League fixtures.Explore more on these topics:
