When Lionel Messi was forced to renege on his attempt to leave the club in the summer, the Argentine publicly criticised Bartomeu in an interview with Goal. "I have not been allowed this in any way and I will stay at the club so as not to get into a legal dispute. The management of the club led by Bartomeu is a disaster," Messi said. Now, Messi, and the millions of Barcelona fans across the world, will rejoice this victory, which they hope will mark the beginning of a new dawn for La Blaugrana.
