Jose Mourinho unhappy with Paul Pogba after midfielder goes against club advice

The France international has reportedly been taking part in private training sessions

All is not well between Jose Mourinho and Paul Pogba, according to reports.

The Sun initially claimed that the Manchester United manager, as well as his backroom staff, have placed the blame on the French midfielder for the hamstring injury which is set to keep him sidelined for several weeks.

Well-connected reporter Duncan Castles confirmed the suggestion that Pogba went against the club’s advice by taking part in private training sessions.

Pogba left Old Trafford on crutches on Tuesday night after limping out of United’s Champions League group opener against Basel with a hamstring injury.

And the club believe that the 24-year-old’s decision to train privately with a personal trainer, something which United’s backroom staff advised against, made him more vulnerable to picking up muscle injuries.

Pogba has suffered hamstring issues in the past and missed three games of United’s last campaign with a similar injury to the one he sustained midweek.

A more definitive timeline of Pogba’s expected return will likely be delivered to the media during Mourinho’s pre-match press conference on Friday afternoon but all signs indicate that it will be a period of 4-6 weeks without United’s record signing.

You know what that means.
