Jordan Pickford taunted by rival fan at Amir Khan vs Kell Brook fight

It’s a decent comeback from Pickford, to be fair

Jordan Pickford provided a comical response to a rival fan who attempted to goad him at the Amir Khan vs Kell Brook fight on Saturday night.

The Everton goalkeeper was at the Manchester Arena for the highly-anticipated bout between long-time rivals Khan and Brook.

However, as the 27-year-old walked through the arena, he was taunted by a rival fan – who appeared to be a Liverpool supporter – about Everton’s relegation battle.

The man mocked Pickford by asking the England shot-stopper: “Everton getting relegated, or what?”

Pickford responded by asking him to say it again, which the fan did without hesitation.

The former Sunderland man then asked him to repeat it again after pretending that he couldn’t hear him, before responding: “Parrot”.

Frank Lampard’s side suffered a 2-0 defeat against Southampton at the Saint Mary’s Stadium on Saturday, with goals from Stuart Armstrong and Shane Long.

Pickford was among several footballers and celebrities in attendance at the Manchester Arena for the fight between Khan and Brook, which saw Brook secure victory via a stoppage decision in the sixth round.

Last week, a fight broke out at a pub in South Tyneside following abuse aimed at Pickford.

He was with friends at the Beggar’s Bridge pub at East Boldon when he was mocked for having ‘little arms’ by another group of people.

One man was reportedly left with a broken nose and another with a smashed phone after filming the incident.

However, it was reported that Pickford was not involved in the incident, with a witness claiming that he had exited the pub before the incident occurred.
