There’s a mixed response to rumours Jordan Henderson is set to be named England captain

24 hours on from the announcement of Sam Allardyce's first England squad, attention has turned to who he will name as the national side's captain.

Although reports earlier in the week had suggested Wayne Rooney would continue in the role, there is a growing sense that the Manchester United forward (midfielder?) may be replaced. On Monday afternoon, rumours swirled that Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson was in line to replace Rooney.
