Liverpool captain and all round top bloke Jordan Henderson has become an ambassador for the association of NHS Charities.
Henderson has been vocal in his support for the NHS, who employ his cousin Stephanie and have looked after his father through serious illness in recent years, throughout the pandemic. He has also backed up his words with actions, helping to organise a charitable fund with fellow Premier League captains to ensure footballers 'did their bit' to support the country in a time of crisis.
Now, NHS Charities Together have said they are "delighted to be working with Jordan Henderson, newly announced official Charity Champion of NHS Charities Together."
Speaking to the BBC on Tuesday morning, the England international said: "I spoke to my cousin a couple of weeks ago again, you don't need me to tell you how tough it must be for them at this moment in time.
"Not only dealing with the pandemic and Covid but everything else on top of that, treatment and stuff for other things.
"Because they're overwhelmed, it's hard for them to be able to do that at the level that they maybe would have done a year ago.
"There's a lot for them to deal with."
