Van Persie out, Cavani in
According to the Daily Star, Manchester United are planning to sell Robin van Persie in the summer following another disappointing season for the Dutchman.
The striker has scored just ten goals after struggling with injuries, and reports suggest Ed Woodward is now actively encouraging offers.
Louis van Gaal has apparently been promised another £150m to spend and is eyeing Paris Saint-Germain hitman Edinson Cavani as a potential replacement.
Real Madrid monitor Sterling
There’s more bad news for Liverpool after Zinedine Zidane revealed that Real Madrid are monitoring Raheem Sterling’s contract situation.
Talks over a new deal have stalled, leading to speculation that the England international will leave Anfield at the end of the season.
“We know who Raheem Sterling is, and of course we are monitoring him as a player,” said Zidane.
“There are very few players in the world who can improve the Real Madrid squad, so it is going to make sense we monitor the progress of the best young players in the world.
“We monitor many of the best young players in Europe, then if we feel they have something to offer Real Madrid we will contact their club and try and make the next step.”
Liverpool want Kondogbia
One player who could be arriving at Liverpool is towering Monaco midfielder Geoffrey Kondogbia, report the Daily Mail.
The 22-year-old, who has been capped by France on three occasions, impressed against Arsenal in the Champions League, reminding potential suitors why he was linked with the likes of Manchester United, Real Madrid and Juventus only a couple of years ago.
It’s thought that a £10m bid could tempt Monaco into selling, with Liverpool expected to meet that demand.
