Joe Rogan reveals why Khabib Nurmagomedov jumped out of the Octagon

Joe Rogan has seen pretty much everything in the UFC.

The veteran commentator has been with the organisation for over 20 years and little surprises him but even Rogan was taken aback by what took place in Las Vegas' T-Mobile Arena on Saturday night.

After Khabib Nurmagomedov defended his UFC lightweight title by submitting Conor McGregor in the fourth round of their grudge match, the undefeated Russian jumped out of the cage and confronted McGregor's team.

Dillon Danis, McGregor's Jiu-Jitsu coach, was the target of Nurmagomedov's attack and nobody had a better viewpoint on the altercation than Rogan, who shouted "no, no, no" when he saw Nurmagomedov scale the fence.

"We couldn't hear what he said but Dillon absolutely was insulting Khabib and saying something to him and provoking him," Rogan said.

"And then Khabib just jumped over the cage and attacked him, just jumped into the crowd.

"I couldn't believe my eyes as it was happening. I thought he was going to get to the top of the cage and say 'F You' or something but when he went over the top and then into the crowd, I thought 'I can't believe this is happening'."

The bad blood between McGregor and Nurmagomedov had been bubbling for months and became personal when families were dragged into the pre-fight trash talk.

Nurmagomedov came out heated for the fourth round of the fight and Rogan believes that McGregor's glove-holding in the third frame was the reason behind the sudden mood change in the Octagon.

Rogan said: "Khabib was angry because Conor was grabbing Khabib's gloves. He was hooking against his gloves and he was doing it illegally.

"Khabib said it to Herb Dean, he said that Conor did it three times. That's what it was all about. That's why he was fired up."
