Jimi Manuwa puts OSP to sleep with ferocious knockout

Lights out.

Jimi Manuwa claimed the biggest scalp of his career by beating a former title contender on home soil at UFC 204.

The Poster Boy had some success on the feet in the opening round. Realising the Brit was getting the better of him, Ovince Saint Preux put his wrestling chops to work and smothered his opponent against the cage before taking his back on the ground.

The tide changed in the second round though as Manuwa began scoring some big shots on the feet. Saint Preux looked fatigued and was noticeably slow to the punch in the second frame while the fresher Manuwa went to work with his superior striking.

Manuwa had his opponent in serious trouble against the cage mid-way through the round and the beginning of the end was a stunning holy haymaker from hell that connected flush to the body. There was a delayed wince from OSP who appeared to shut down, giving Manuwa the perfect opportunity to follow up with a heavy punch up top that sent him crashing down to the canvas.

The result improves Manuwa’s record to 16-2, 5-2 in the UFC, while OSP is now on a two-fight skid after losing his last outing to Jon Jones for the interim strap.
