It seems Thierry Henry was just returning the compliment.

Following his hilarious reaction to Brendan Rodgers' sacking on Sky Sports, Henry's decision to place his right hand on Jamie Carragher's thigh caused quite a stir. https://twitter.com/johnmerro1/status/650999562556022784?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw Writing in his Daily Mail column today Jamie Carragher explained that he'd done something similar to Henry in their first appearance on Sky Sports together.
"I seem to have become an internet sensation this week after Thierry Henry touched my leg on Sky when we found out Brendan Rodgers had been sacked. I wasn’t really aware of it at the time, I was just in shock at the news. But by the time I got home, everyone was sending round videos of it and having a good laugh. "But I have a confession to make: the first time Thierry and I were on TV together, I grabbed his leg! So maybe he was just returning the favour."
