Jake Paul is the ‘most feared man in boxing’, claims ex-UFC star Sonnen

Former UFC fighter Chael Sonnen has claimed that Jake Paul is the ‘most feared man in boxing’ with fighters ‘not sure they can beat him’.

The 44-year-old believes that traditional and experienced boxers are second guessing themselves against Paul, who currently boasts a professional record of 5-0.

That is despite the YouTuber-turned-boxer not yet facing an opponent with a traditional boxing background, or prior professional boxing record.

Speaking on his YouTube channel, Sonnen said: “Jake Paul is the most feared man in boxing. These boxers are not sure they can beat him. They are not sure they can deal with it.

“The trainers are not sure that a kid that he’s had since middle school and worked with 11 or 12 years can’t get the jump on a guy who’s done it four times.

“It is the biggest, most profiled spotlight with the largest paycheque and nobody wants to do it.

“You’re not hearing names pop up. You’re not hearing them sprout up anywhere.”

Paul was due to fight ex-reality star Tommy Fury – who is 7-0 – in December until ‘TNT’ pulled out with a broken rib and chest infection.

Instead, the 25-year-old rematched ex-UFC champion Tyron Woodley – scoring a brutal knockout victory.

Former middleweight boxing world champion Julio Cesar Chavez Jr has been discussed as a potential opponent for Paul, with the experienced boxer claiming he would retire from boxing if he lost to the YouTuber.

‘The Problem Child’ has recorded knockout wins over fellow content creator ‘AnEsonGib’, former NBA player Nate Robinson and retired UFC welterweight Ben Askren.

He also defeated Woodley on points in August before winning by KO in their late-notice rematch four months later.
