Fury and Paul were set to fight in Florida on December 18.

Tommy Fury is reportedly pulling out of his fight with YouTuber Jake Paul because of an injury.

Fury, who is the brother of world heavyweight champion Tyson, was set to take on Paul in Tampa, Florida on December 18, but it is expected that the bout is now going to be called off.

YouTuber news reporter KEEMSTAR (real name Daniel Keem) first posted the news suggesting that Fury had dropped out.

A number of reporters have since also confirmed the reports.

It is thought that Tyron Woodley will offer to fight in place of Tommy.

Official confirmation of the fight’s cancellation is expected later on Monday.

The bout was set to be one of the biggest events of the boxing year, as the 7-0 (4 KOs) younger brother of Tyson Fury was set to take on the 4-0 (3 KOs) YouTuber-turned-boxer. The two have shared a long-running feud and were set to finally settle their differences in Tampa.

WBC heavyweight champion Tyson was going to be in his brother’s corner on fight night, assisting alongside trainer SugarHill Steward.

In November, Paul revealed that Tyson himself had been sending him goading voice messages to get in his head in the build-up to the fight.

Speaking to TMZ, Paul said: “We’re going back and forth in the DMs right now, me and Tyson, sending each other voice messages, which is pretty funny.

“I’m calling his brother a squid, he’s saying, ‘He’s gonna annihilate you Jakey boy.’

“I’ll play you one.”

Fury can be heard shouting: “He’s coming for you Jakey boy, you’re getting annihilated Jakey.”

But it sounds like we’ll never known whether the DMs had the desired effect, with the fight now called off.
