It looks like Sky Sports got caught out by this impressive fake transfer rumour

Homesport

You're probably well aware that this time of year brings a wealth of transfer rumours.

Some are real, some are fake. But it's easy to tell which are which. Or so we thought. Now, there are inevitably going to be a few players on the move this January who we'd never heard of beforehand. Take Arsenal new-boy Cohen Bramall, for instance. https://twitter.com/_AndyHa/status/816686901537034240 You're also probably familiar with the 'Yer Da Sells Avon' meme. But even if you're not, surely the mention of a Turkish midfielder called Yerdss Selzavon would raise a few eyebrows, even in a post-Bramall world. Well, apparently not. Was the rogue 's' enough to throw people off the scent? Twitter user ffsAberdeen has provided a screenshot claiming Sky Sports ran with his fake rumour, which claimed the mythical Selzavon was on his way to the Dons. https://twitter.com/ffsAberdeen/status/817482536188264448 The rumour is no longer on the transfer blog, but it has been mentioned widely on social media. https://twitter.com/coral/status/817500710183047169 It follows a similar attempt from a fake Southampton account - you'd think people might know what to expect by now. https://twitter.com/SuothamptonFC/status/816765420363513857
