Here’s who Saracens and Wasps WILL PLAY in the Champions Cup quarter finals

These will be cracking games

Patrick McCarry

Phew, that was some going!

Connacht, Toulouse and Wasps left everything out there as they battled it out for the final two Champions Cup quarter final spots.

The only last eight clash that was confirmed before today’s action was top seeds Clermont against Toulon at Stade Marcel Michelin. We also knew Munster and Saracens were second and third seeds. Only a 62+ point Connacht win would have bumped Leinster out of a home quarter final.

As it all played out Connacht lost 19-10 to Toulouse and could not get the losing bonus point that would have got them through. Wasps, who defeated Zebre after an early fright in Italy, and Toulouse marched on to the last eight.

The quarter final picture is now clear.

Saracens will host Glasgow Warriors, Wasps will travel to Dublin to play Leinster at the Aviva Stadium in their quarter final while Munster will welcome Toulouse to Thomond Park.

The dates and times of the four matches will be confirmed over the next 24 hours.

Sarries and Wasps could still meet each other in the final at Murrayfield if they were to win their next two games.
