This hilarious clip from Harry Kane’s press conference will have Scotland fans quaking in their kilts

Fighting talk

These are uncertain times we find ourselves in.

Brexit, President Trump… and whispers that Gareth Southgate could be about to get the England job on a permanent basis.

Not even a convincing 2-0 thrashing of world football superpowers Malta last month was enough to convince English football fans that Southgate was the right man to follow on from Sam Allardyce. A hard-fought draw away in Slovenia a few days later didn’t exactly make anyone believe England were ready to return to the glory days of quarter-final penalty-shootout defeats to Portugal, either.

With Southgate’s Three Lions set to take on Scotland at Wembley in their next World Cup qualification match on Friday night, Harry Kane was put forward to face the media. The Tottenham striker left those in the room in little doubt as to what he and his teammates intended to do in the match.

Just in case you didn’t catch that: England will be trying to win the game. That’s exactly why Kane decided to make that point four times in ten seconds.

Watch out, Scotland.

England head into the match against Scotland two points clear at the top of Group F, while Gordon Strachan’s side sit in fourth.
