As far as celebrities referees go, rugby's Nigel Owens has got to be the most high-profile and the most beloved.
The Welshman did more good for his brand today after he struck in back by a rugby ball that a ballboy had thrown onto the field.
During Leinster's comprehensive win over Scarlets in the Pro12 today, Owens largely kept his cards in his pocket. But he made an exception for the ballboy, whom he booked for having the cheek to whack the unsighted referee with the ball. It was a pretty sweet moment, and one that typifies the good-natured Nigel Owens.
