German coach goes viral for animated living room antics

Köln manager Steffen Baumgart had to isolate for his team's match against Freiburg and was predictably animated in his living room

Extremely relatable content

FC Köln manager Steffen Baumgart was forced to isolate during his side’s match against Freiburg after testing positive for covid-19 during the week, leaving him to watch his team from the ‘comfort’ of his living room.

Famously animated when barking instructions from the touchline, Baumgart was no different – more animated if anything – when having to watch his team on TV.

A video filmed by his daughter and posted to her TikTok account has since gone viral, showing the 50-year-old yelling at his TV and pacing around his flat in a way any football fan will relate to.

The video peaks when his dog climbs onto his shoulders, as if to calm him down, while the rest of his family sit in silence, very much used to these antics.

Thankfully for Baumgart, his side were able to grind out a 1-0 win to close the gap on Freiburg, who now sit just a point above them in the Bundesliga as both sides fight for a European spot.

Anyway here’s the video.
