Geordie Shore’s Aaron Chalmers makes Bellator debut and chokes opponent out cold

He'll have to start facing tougher opponents soon

Make that 4-0.

Aaron Chalmers has managed to keep his undefeated record intact and did so in impressive style as he choked opponent Ash Griffiths out to maintain his streak of first-round finishes.

The Geordie Shore star had gone 3-0 under the BAMMA banner, stopping three opponents in just seven months last year, and he was rewarded with the opportunity to show his skills in Bellator.

Chalmers opened up the flagship Bellator 200 main card in London on Friday night with a victory over an opponent he was admittedly supposed to beat but he still had to go out and deliver under the pressure of the bright lights.

‘The Joker’ had to defend some early takedown attempts from Griffiths and even ate a solid knee to the face, which he admitted was a wake-up call.

The finish arrived shortly thereafter as Chalmers dropped his opponent with a right hand.

The second submission of Chalmers’ career arrived when, like Jon Jones did against Lyoto Machida, he cinched up a tight standing guillotine and allowed the unconscious body of Griffiths to drop to the mat.

“I’ve been working a lot with Tom Breese, Leon Edwards and Fabian Edwards on my ground game,” Chalmers said after the fight.

“I could hear everything Leon was telling us. I took a knee, woke up and then bang! Sit down, son.”

The critics will say that his opponent possessed a losing record, was moving up in weight and then didn’t even bother to make the catchweight limit of 163lbs but Chalmers can only fight who’s in front of him.

It’s not his fault that his promotion is looking to keep the hype train rolling on but the time is fast approaching for him to start taking on tougher competition.

However, the 30-year-old had a simple message for the haters after his hand was raised.

“If you don’t like it then fuck you. Simple as that!”
