Gary Neville takes the mick out of West Ham’s woes as they draw with Middlesbrough

Stadium 1 - Middlesbrough 1

Gary Neville simply doesn’t buy the suggestion that West Ham’s move to the Olympic Stadium is to blame for the Hammers’ shocking start to the season.

“Every team that moves to a new stadium takes time to adjust,” manager Slaven Bilic told talkSPORT earlier this week.

And while he insisted that the move is not the reason behind his side’s underwhelming beginning to this campaign, it’s clear that the change is playing on Bilic’s mind.

West Ham have won just one Premier League game this season, a 1-0 victory over Bournemouth in August, but they have failed to find a win since.

They required some typical Dimitri Payet magic to earn a draw at home to newly promoted Middlesbrough on Saturday afternoon and remain in the relegation zone, with several supporters criticising the lack of atmosphere in the new ground.

But we think it’s safe to say that Sky Sports pundit Neville is more of the belief that it’s the players who are to blame for the sub-par performances, rather than their new surroundings.

During the 1-1 draw with ‘Boro, Neville took to Twitter to have a bit of fun with the recent moaning about the stadium’s significance on the scoreboard.
