He suffered the injury in the FA Cup defeat to Manchester United
Arsenal forward Gabriel Jesus is likely to be out for the rest of the season after suffering a suspected ACL injury.
The Brazilian was stretchered off the pitch just 41 minutes into Arsenal’s FA Cup 3rd round clash with Manchester United on Sunday.
The 27-year-old was visibly upset as he was taken off the pitch, and after the game Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta said ” It is not looking good at all.”
The London club now believe he has ruptured the ACL in his left knee following scans, the Athletic reports.
Jesus will undergo further tests on Tuesday to establish the full extent of the injury.
The news is the latest injury blow for the Gunners, who are already without the likes of Bukayo Saka and Ethan Nwaneri.
This has coincided with attacking players Kai Havertz and Leandro Trossard hitting bad form, and Arsenal’s lack of ruthlessness in front of goal was clear for all to see in their FA Cup defeat to United.
The London side are reportedly looking to strengthen this month by looking at potential loan options from abroad.
Speaking to the press ahead of the North London derby on Wednesday, Arteta said Arsenal “have our limits in what we want to do” when it comes to any January signings.
Arsenal take on Tottenham at the Emirates Stadium on Wednesday evening, with the game kicking off at 8pm.
