‘At the end I am not a kid any more and I go straight to him as well’
Arsenal forward Gabriel Jesus was left confused following an altercation between himself and Everton defender Yerry Mina during last weekend’s friendly in Baltimore.
The Brazil international signed for the Gunners from Manchester City earlier this month in a deal understood to be worth £45m. Since his arrival at the club, he has scored three goals in his first two pre-season outings.
Jesus bagged in Mikel Arteta’s side’s win over the Toffees last week, with the London club securing a 2-0 victory at the M&T Bank Stadium.
Jesus and Mina clash
However, the former City frontman was involved in the one flashpoint during the match when he was confronted by Mina, who aimed a number of aggressive gestures in the direction of Jesus.
Speaking about the altercation, the 25-year-old told TNT Sports: “You know what, I have played with Mina before in Palmeiras. We were so close to each other.
“Then, after, I don’t know why he started to attack me to do something like this on my chest and then talking s**t. I don’t know why.
“I don’t know the reason for him to do this. At the end I am not a kid any more and I go straight to him as well. After we on the game and that’s all.”

The striker is likely to feature in the Gunners’ next pre-season clash when Arteta’s men face off against Orlando City in the early hours of Thursday morning.
Zinchenko expected to agree personal terms
Jesus is likely to be joined at the club by another of his ex-Man City teammates in Oleksandr Zinchenko, who is expected to undergo a medical in the coming days after he agreed personal terms following City’s acceptance of a bid in the region of £30million.
The Ukrainian international will become Arsenal’s fifth major signing of the summer, but Arteta is thought to be keen on adding more additions to the Gunners’ ranks.
