Fulham-Blackpool suspended due to a medical incident in crowd

The game was halted in the 16th minute

Fulham’s Championship fixture against Blackpool was suspended in the first-half due to a medial emergency in the crowd.

Marco Silva’s men opened the scoring in the sixth minute through the league’s leading goalscorer Aleksandar Mitrović, however, the game was halted in the 16th minute due to to a medical incident in the Hammersmith End.

The Cottagers took to Twitter to announce that the game at Craven Cottage had been suspended, stating: “There’s a pause in play, due to a medical incident in the Hammersmith End.”

The players were then taken off the field by the referee as the supporter was attended to.

Fulham later released an update, announcing that the supporter had been transferred to hospital.

It read: “The supporter being attended to is being transferred to the hospital. We’re sending our thoughts and best wishes for a full and speedy recovery. We will provide an update on the situation as soon as we have further information.”

The game between Oldham and Rochdale in League Two was also stopped after a medical emergency in the stands in that game too.
