Manchester United fans excited by Fred’s ‘cryptic’ Instagram post

Fred is said to be close to a move to Old Trafford, and some United fans are getting excited by his latest post on Instagram

BREAKING: MAN POSTS THING ON INSTAGRAM.

Transfer silly season is officially here, kids.

Not even a week on from losing their FA Cup final to Chelsea, Manchester United are getting their ducks in a row for next season.

Having already been linked with 2,437 potential summer signings, it seems there’s genuinely some truth to the reports that Jose Mourinho wants to sign Shakhtar Donetsk’s Brazilian midfielder Fred.

But hey, don’t take that from us, take it from the man himself, who confirmed in a press conference on Friday that his club had a received a “strong offer” from United.

With a move seemingly close, some United fans are diligently paying close attention to his official social media accounts for anything vaguely resembling confirmation that a switch to Old Trafford is imminent.

With this in mind, it was hardly a surprise to see their reaction when Fred did post something to his Instagram on Saturday.

‘To be happy, to smile and to believe,’ he wrote. ‘Faith in the walk to face our fears and the sensational. Our dreams move the hearts.’

Lovely stuff. No idea what he’s banging on about, but yeah, lovely all the same.

This was enough for some to describe his message as ‘cryptic’ and a hint that a move was near.

Here, look:

Perhaps they’re right. Mourinho reportedly wants to tie the 25-year-old down – not literally – before the start of the World Cup.

The player, however, might have other ideas. Speaking in the same press conference, he stressed that he was focused on the national team for the time being, with his representatives on hand to take care of any developments with his future.

United are also being strongly linked with a move for Tottenham’s Toby Alderweireld, who is expected to be on the move this summer. As of yet, there is a disappointing lack of cryptic social media posts from the Belgian defender.
