Slim chance

Conor McGregor will be confident of putting Jose Aldo to sleep on December 12. Benson Henderson believes the Brazilian taking a nap may be his only hope.

The former UFC lightweight champion was asked in a Monday Q&A session who he was backing in the long-awaited Aldo-McGregor bout.

Henderson, who twice defeated Frankie Edgar during The Answer’s stint at lightweight, spoke highly of McGregor’s skill-set but favours Aldo in the unification clash.

He said: “The only way anybody at 145lbs is going to beat Jose Aldo, in the next five years, is if they catch him while he is sleeping… in bed.

“I’ve gotta go with Jose Aldo.

“Conor is tough; he does a good job and he brings a lot of hype behind him.”

The 32-year-old also revealed that he would be helping Donald ‘Cowboy’ Cerrone to train for his UFC lightweight belt clash with current champion Rafael dos Anjos.

Interestingly, McGregor stated at the UFC Go Big event that he will be coming for Dos Anjos and Cerrone’s ‘stuck in the mud’ 155lbs division once he defeats Aldo and retires the featherweight division.
