Former Conor McGregor foe Diego Brandao fails drugs test

UFC featherweight Diego Brandao faces punishment for violating the UFC's drug testing policy.

Brandao, who was brutally knocked out by Conor McGregor in the first round of UFC Dublin II's main event, failed the USADA test for elevated marijuana metabolites. USADA confirmed they have notified the UFC about the results of the test, which was administered following Brandao's third round submission loss to Brian Ortega at UFC 195.

"The UFC organization was notified today that the U.S. Anti-Doping Agency (USADA) informed Diego Brandao of a potential Anti-Doping Policy violation involving Carboxy-Tetrahydrocannabinol ("Carboxy-THC") which is a metabolite of marijuana and/or hashish, above the decision limit of 180 ng/mL, stemming from an in-competition sample collected following his fight on January 2, 2016 in Las Vegas."

The statement also says the USADA will share their info with the Nevada State Athletic Commission in order to determine the appropriate punishment for the Brazilian.
