The incident reportedly happened after a heated exchange

German police have begun an investigation into Borussia Dortmund youngster Youssoufa Moukoko after he allegedly locked his ex-girlfriend in his flat against her will.

The 16-year-old prodigy apparently had a heated exchange with his then-partner before locking her in his house and going to training.

According to La Gazzeta dello Sport, after realising what Moukoko had done, his ex-girlfriend called the police, who went to the house and opened the door for her.

Whilst no complaint has been filed against Moukoko, who is out for the rest of the season with injury, the police have decided to open an investigation into the incident.

Dortmund do have their own halls of residence for home-grown players to stay at, but according to Bild, the player had previously asked both the club and his parents for permission to live on his own.

Earlier this season, Moukoko became the youngest player in Borussia Dortmund’s 111-year history to play in the Bundesliga and Champions League.
